AHCA/NCAL members who provide long term care for individuals
with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) are in Washington
today to meet with colleagues, receive legislative and lobbying briefings, and advocate
in front of lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
The Annual ID/DD Conference and Fly-In features over 30
providers from over a dozen states across the country over two days.
The ID/DD providers will meet with several lawmakers from
both sides of the aisle in both the House and Senate, including important
committee heads and members of Congressional leadership.
The group will focus on explaining the importance of
Medicaid funding for long term care services, including the provider tax
program. They will also advocate for fairness to providers in Managed Care
settings as well as guest worker reform to help alleviate the health care
staffing shortage.
Those who would like additional information about the event
should contact Dana Halvorson at dhalvorson@ahca.org.
