AHCA, along with guest speakers, has been hosting an
ongoing webinar
series event this year on the new emergency preparedness final rule
impacting skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), nursing facilities (NFs) and
intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities
(ICF/IID).
This final rule is not applicable to assisted living (AL)
providers. The rule was released on Friday, September 16, 2016, and can be
found here.
Providers will need to be in compliance by November 15, 2017.
The final webinar of the series for this year,
entitled "Emergency Preparedness Requirements - Part IV", will
occur on November 21, 2017.
On Tuesday, November 21, from 2 – 3 PM EST, guest
speakers Sarah Baker, Programs Manager from Healthcare Ready and Nicolette A.
Louissaint, Ph.D. Executive Director of Healthcare Ready and AHCA will host a webinar on
the new emergency preparedness final rule.
The webinar will include an overview of Healthcare Ready and
resources available to members, an update on this past hurricane season and
best practices learned, and a review of components of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) emergency
preparedness rule.
This is the fourth webinar in the four-part webinar series
