Presidential Executive Order on Reorganizing the Executive Branch

Dianne De La Mare

Yesterday, on March 13, 2017, President Trump issued a Presidential Executive Order on a Comprehensive Plan for Reorganizing the Executive Branch.   The purpose of the order, as the White House notes, is to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and accountability of the executive branch by directing the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to propose a plan to reorganize governmental functions and eliminate unnecessary agencies (as defined in section 551(1) of title 5, United States Code), components of agencies, and agency programs.

At this time, AHCA is analyzing it to determine how it could benefit our profession. We will update you with any relevant information post-review of the order.
