3 Tips for a Successful Bronze Application

The Bronze- Commitment to Quality award is the first step of your Quality Award journey. At this level, organizations are asked to provide the Examiner with a context for understand their organization and its approach to quality improvement. In the course of writing your Bronze application you will assess your organizations mission, vision, and the key factors that lead to its success. Below are three tips to help you write a successful Bronze Quality Award application.

  1. Check out the Bronze Criteria Series.  This series is a collection of short YouTube videos to guide you through the Bronze criteria. This is a great resource that can help you complete your Bronze application in ten hours!
  2. Understand what is KEY! Key, according to Baldrige, means “major or most important; critical to achieving your intended outcome”. This word comes up often in the Bronze criteria and helps support the intention that the Bronze application is a statement of your most important priorities.
  3. There are no trick questions in the Bronze criteria but it’s important for an applicant to be consistent. Remember to address ALL areas of each criterion, refer to the notes, and appropriately follow technical requirements.
