Rep. Clyburn to Attend Congressional Briefing

Drew Thies

Representative James Clyburn (D—S. C.) is confirmed to attend AHCA/NCAL’s Congressional Briefing June 15th.

Rep. Clyburn is the Assistant Democratic Leader and the third ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives. He has been a member of Congress for nearly 25 years, first elected in 1992.

As a young man, Clyburn jumped into the civil rights movement, becoming an early member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, a group affiliated with Martin Luther King, Jr. When he was first elected, he became the first African-American elected to Congress from South Carolina since his great-uncle, George Washington Murray, served in the House during Reconstruction.

The Congressman will be meeting with and speaking to AHCA/NCAL members during the Joe Warner Patient Advocacy Award Reception following the general session on Monday, June 15.

AHCA/NCAL is happy to announce that Congressional Briefing registration is open for a small extended window. Come join hundreds of long term and post-acute care professionals June 15-16. Registration is completely free and open to all AHCA/NCAL members and Associate Business Members.
