U.S. Senator Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) recently visited the FutureCare Irvington center. He toured the facility and met with  FutureCare's President Gary Attman, FC Irvington Administrator Scott Hanel and Health Facilities Association of Maryland President Joseph DeMattos. The Senator toured the entire facility and brought several members of his staff as well.

Mr. Attman said: "Maryland is truly fortunate to have a senator like Benjamin Cardin. He is an expert in health care and a member of the powerful Senate Finance Committee. We appreciate him taking time out of his very busy schedule to visit with us and to learn about the issues facing us every day. He is a very ardent supporter of skilled nursing facilities in the US Senate."

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) visited the Stonehenge of American Fork facility, meeting with residents and staff to discuss the upcoming legislative session and its potential impact on the long term care profession.

Facility tours like these are extremely important in educating Members of Congress about AHCA/NCAL issues and help build important relationships between members and federal legislators.  If you would like to host a facility tour, please contact:  Matt Smyth Senior Director at AHCA, msmyth@ahca.org.
