Parkinson Honored for Elder Care

October 26, 2010

Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson, who begins his position as AHCA/NCAL President and CEO in January, was recently honored for his service to elders in the state of Kansas. The Kansas Advocates for Better Care (KABC), the largest nursing home advocate organization in Kansas, honored Parkinson during their second annual “Stand By Me” event in Lawrence, Kansas. The KABC Caring Award is given to recognize exemplary contributions of leadership in providing quality care for frail elders and persons with disabilities in Kansas.

Governor Parkinson has intimate knowledge of the long term and post-acute care sector that has allowed him to be a dedicated champion of elder care issues both in the Kansas legislature and as Governor.  We know that he will continue to advocate for long term care professionals when he joins AHCA/NCAL and we congratulate him on this well-deserved and appropriate award.
